For the first weekend in August our community hosted a crew of young Rabbi’s on a – Mitzvah Tank (synagogue on wheels) , which are sent to our Chief Rabbi of Russia Berel Lazar .
They brought along Tefilin, Mezuzah’s books, as well as a large number of spiritual literature.
The Mitzvah Tank drove around the city and made ​​stops at shopping centers. During stops any Jew could hop on to acquire religious literature, as well as speak to the rabbi’s.
Parishioners of our community together with the rabbis of the ”mitzvah tank” gathered for ”Kabalat Shabbat” on Friday evening and services Saturday morning. In total, every prayer was attended by about 50 people.
On Sunday they drove to the city of Dmitovgrad (a city in Ulyanovsk region) to meet the Jews there!
Before the guests left out city, the gave a gift to our community a decorative map with the location of all the Jewish communities of Russia.
