The Ninth of Av is the day we mourn the destruction of our first and second temple, together with many other tragedies throughout Jewish history that transpired on the 9th of Av. Ulyanovsk is no different then any other Jewish Community, many gathered in the synagogue on the 9th of av to mourn and read the traditional book that is read on the 9th of Av, called the Kinus. where we read the detailed story about the destruction, and about all the prophecies that were prophecies-ed about the destruction of the temple.

 

24 hours later, towards the end of the fast the crowed gathered again to prey, after which all were invited to Rabbi’s house to break their fast and it a festive meal.

 

Our sages tell us, the the 9th of av will turn into a happy and joyful day, when Moshiach comes. the talmud tell us that the day of the destruction of the Temple is the day Moshiach was born, Let us all merit to the coming of Moshiach speedily
