This Chanukah, the youth in our community celebrated Chanukah in very original and funky ways! On December 4th, they met at the Museum of Civil Aviation and lit the Menorah on the wing of an airplane! On December 5th, they organized a rally in the city center in the mall “Versailles.” Being that it was Sunday, the mall was crowded with visitors. The program they prepared included performances of Jewish dancers and “Fire” shows from presenters who spoke about the fascinating history of Chanukah, as well as the traditions and customs of the holiday. Brochures were given out, as well as candle gifts. Each candle was nicely wrapped with a note stating: “Light a candle at Chanukah. Give light!” 1,000 candles were distributed!
