On May 6th, 92 year old Michael Yosefovich Lifshits, the honorable President of the community of Ulyanovsk, has passed away.

Mr. Lifshits was among the founding fathers and the President of our community for 20 years.

He first began his work spring 1989, at a time that was difficult and dangerous for Jews. He did a lot for our community, he helped Jews reconnect to their traditions.
